Gender discrimination at work place

In recent decades many companies have noticed a rapid growth due to implementation of cross cultural management in their organization and in these organization women are working equal to men. This change has made these organization to be transparent in giving opportunities to everyone. However still women employees are getting paid less than men & this is not subject to only one or two country this has become a global issue & companies should try to solve this issue.
As per the Global gender difference ratio report 2015 India ranked 129th place out of 145 countries in not paying equal salary to equal post. In the period between 2005-2014 the participation of women workers union has decreased to 10% reported by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).
From Past few years recruiting women for jobs increasing day by day and they are getting more job opportunities in housekeeping, cooking, and beautician field and also in data entry as well as marketing. Though there has been increase in women employees but they paid less when compare to that of men who have equal job and equal post. In India it is common from ground level employee to top level management.
For example in outsourcing(BPO) at initial stages male employees get Rs.13,792 where as women paid Rs.11,664 which is 15.43% less compare to that of men.  However situation is not that much worse, companies are recruiting more & more women due to global competition, improvement in policy making, encouragement for R&D etc. due to all these reasons women are getting appointed as directors & CEO’s.
A person’s efficiency is based on his knowledge & skills and not on his gender. Considering this fact companies must pay equal salary to equal job & post in spite of all still if there is any gender discrimination then HR policies must review immediately & it should be a priority for companies. This will create a harmony & mutual understanding between male & female employees. This can encourage to build women leadership. So, companies can retain efficient employees which in turn helps to gain reputation of the company.
Companies can eliminate gender discrimination through:
*Adopting transparency in disclosure of salary payment
*Developing materialistic attitude in employees mind set
*Providing promotions, incentives extra allowance& benefits based on employees performance
*Healthy goal setting
Companies can also bring equality by explaining the problems they are facing in appointing women employees to top designatioins.

Finally women empowerment can bring a positive change in the development of a country & everyone should work towards it.
