Acharya Balakrishna: The man behind Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Company
He is the fraud, cheater , he has a gun without license, his
citizenship is questionable, 4 years ago these were the complaints charged
against Acharya Balakrishna by the CBI department. But due to lack of
proper evidence & proof complaints
were withdrawn in the year 2014 and there is a rumour that he had a courtesy by
the NDA government in getting relief from all the cases filed against him.
Whatever the fact now Acharya Balakrishna is the present
Chairman of Patanjali company and his present net worth is around Rs. 160 billion (16000 crore) he ranks 48th
place in Forbes list of richest Indians and 26th among 339 people’s
list bu Hurun India. Many were surprised when his name was published in the
list of richest Indians. But the actual reason behind his success is two facts
one is Baba Ramdev & the other is his strategy in blending swadeshi
ideology & Ayurveda importance in his products which both were well crafted and executed in most efficient manner
which made him to be succeed as a businessman.
Acharya Balakrishna’s childhood name was Narayan Prasad
Subedi, he born to Nepali Brahmin couples Sumitra devi & Jaya Vallabha in
the year 1972 July 25th. In his early childhood his family migrated
to India. Acharya Balakrishna was interested in Ayurveda, Sanskrit &
Gurukula education system. His life changed when he met Baba Ramdev at Kanpur
Gurukul in Haryana. Around 1995 they started ‘Divya Pharmacy’ at Haridwar &
in the year 2006 they established Patanjali Company.
While stepping into Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG)
business Acharya Balakrishna has big dream but he did not have enough money in
his hands to run the business. No one dared to give him finance at that time
two NRI’S and a local person helped him by giving RS. 60 crore as a credit.
Acharya Balakrishna used Baba Ramdev’s name more rather than
his ayurvedic knowledge in developing Patanjali company. By knowing Baba
Ramdev’s popularity & his huge followers base Acharya Balakrishna made Baba
Ramdev as brand ambassador for Patanjali products which is one of the main
reason for the success of Patanjali products. Though Baba Ramdev is the brand
ambassador he restricted his stake holding to just 6% & the remaining 94%
held by Acharya Balakrishna. Naturally demand for Patanjali products increasing
day by day which in turn Acharya Balakrishna getting richer day by day. He
knows the pulse of Indians their feelings emotions and this efficiency made demand for Patanjali
products at global market. Today Patanjali products are being sold at USA,
Canada & even in western countries also. At present Patanjali company has a
business of Rs. 50 billion(5000 crore) which may reach 100 billion (10000
crore) at the end of 2017. There is a plan to get Rs 1 trillion (1 lakh crore)
business within 2020 this move pose a threat to other companies in FMCG sector
in India.
