GeM SCHEME-2017



The government of INDIA has launched a new training programme called GeM (Government e-Marketplace).
The main aim/objective of this scheme is to help all the government officials in purchasing goods at this portal, which they used commonly or regularly. It may be Air conditioning, furniture, Computer and its accessories with services, housekeeping services, etc…
Any ministry or department can buy goods up to Rs.50000/- directly through this portal. If the cost of goods or services exceeds that amount, the purchases have to be made through price comparison or by bidding or through reverse auction.

  3. Makes available in search, compare, select and buy facility
  4. Up-to-date user-friendly dashboard for buying, monitoring supplies and payments
  5. Enables buying of Goods and Services online as and when required.

  1. One-stop shop for bids / reverse auction on products / services
  2. New Product suggestion facility available to Sellers
  3. Dynamic pricing: Price can be changed based on market conditions
  4. Seller friendly dashboard for selling, and monitoring of supplies and payments
  5. Consistent and uniform purchase procedures across the GeM portal
  6. Multiple consignee locations are enabled with or without variation
